The hugely Trafficed Web Band usually known for "Brandy" and "White Black Thang" as well as "Star" explode here with another Winner in "Manipulation" as the funny antics of Clark-Haggins and Ric Carmody Lead the way along with comical Drummer Palle Karlson to the high energy track; "People say unanimously that this song rips off the 1964 Song by the Four Seasons - I don't care" Says Haggins. "It's still a great classic song that displays why G.e. is the best band on the internet !!,...We get your attention with humor and melodies!! http://rightwingwackjob.blogspot.com/ At the time of this video shoot, G.e. were a band that was finished as Bassist Ric Carmody had officially Left the band and joined a local Punk Rock outfit called The One Handed Readers who rehearsed in North Redondo Beach Ca while Hagins and his project were in the Southern Part of the city near Torrance Beach; "I don't think way back then that People realized just how great and genius that G.e. was and still is" Says Higgins. "Our image was key and very important ,...we had a magic trio special "Something." - http://rightwingwackjob.blogspot.com/ "We were and still are an amazing band and today in the 2000's, the internet really Proves all of our points,...People crank up the Songs and they see that G.e. "Is" Rock n Roll !!" http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-rock-opera-white-suburban/id298711277 - The band started out in 1985 in their classic and usual three piece band format with Mega-Guitarist Phillip Keegan Leading the way and "Inventing grunge rock" with a Capital I !!! as "Precarious", "Number One", and "Racers" as well as the band's cover of the Yardbird's "Think About it" ruled the indie underground of Flipside Magazine and Ben is Dead. Clark Hagins would become the band's Defacto "Manager" and he would painstakenly mail in Tapes to Record Labels and Magazines alike, often getting Top attorney's to do his dirty work and get G.e. tapes through the doors of Emi Records and every Label from Geffen to Sony to A & M and beyond deep in the early years of 1988 and 87'; "We just knew in those early days - Me and Keegan knew it - That we were the greatest band in the world ,..we were completely revolutionary ,..we mixed the Who with Zeppelin with Black Flag with the Yardbirds with Garage rock to indie rock perfection !! And we did it all as just a three piece with me on drums..." When Playing Live, Greenhouse Effect exploded as Keegan often showed at a gig wearing "What-ever-he-was-wearing-that-day" and hammered his guitar,..often wearing knee pads and high hiving the crowd alongside funny looking red head bassist Carmody as Haggins shouted some excellent powerful lead vocals - ALL FROM THE DRUM KIT !!!,...whilst Playing Like Keith Moon ????.... "Yeah,..you had to see it" Says Hagins "We were amazing,....and I was 21 years old and shit,.." Later on, in 1990's Late summer...the band would mutually part-ways with the mighty Keegan and Hagins the great drummer suddenly moved up to Guitar ???? Yes !! Along with the newly found in the Recycler Musician's NewsPaper Powerhouse Drummer Martin Silva; "When we suddenly got Marty in G.e. ,..me and Ted and this guy took things to an entirely new Level and we became born again as this amazing three piece band sorta like the Jamesgang or Grand Funk Railroad,.... We were suddenly this high energy band on stage with me now leading the way - we were more amazing than ever !!" Silva would eventually leave the band after a great gig at Nomad's Club in Los Angeles but a gig where only a tiny crowd showed; "That night in March 1992 sucked" Says Higgins. "We put on a killer three piece show but none of our crowd showed,..and the next day, Marty quit,....that's when we started rockin' with this guy named Palle that you might all know from your computer (Laughs)" Palle Karlson was a friend of the band who often hung out at G.e rehearsals but that Hagins questioned was good enough on drums to be in the band; "When I heard Palle drum,..I realized he was more than passable to be in the band,....So we just hired him and right away he became the "Coolest" guy in the band because he was such an emo nerd,..so geeky WITH GLASSES ,...he totally built the image that made us rock out in the "White Black Thang" videos in late 92'. The band finally called it quits as Carmody left for good and no music was recorded in 1993 as Hagins left music himself; "After 8 years and no record label interest,...I just gave up and it's a bummer,..because it wasn't over,..we got out at a bad time because indie rock and punk were exploding all over California and the South Bay,...but by that point, I was mentally tired from it all,..I was emotionally spent and finished...there was no way I was gonna play music again as I was turning 30 soon,..in those days,..that was very old age (Laughs)." Today , Greenhouse Effect Music Videos are extremely Popular in Over 200 Countries from Japan to Russia to Pakistan and Hagins sees no let up for the World's Most Watched band; "We're rock Gods now with a Capital G,...People want our Links and embeds everywhere and all over the world I see our films splattered every where and in every Search Engine - this is scary for me,...I'm recognized nearly everywhere I go as that "Guy with all the surfing videos (Laughs),..and all I am is a simple swimming pool cleaner lowly dude,...and I don't even know how to Surf !!! I can't even swim !!." - ROCK CITY RECORDS BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS. http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-rock-opera-white-suburban/id298711277
