In March of 1991. ( Los Angeles ) Redondo Beach Mega-Band Greenhouse Effect conceived a Legend of a song when they wrote and recorded "The White Black Song" which today on the internet has become their Cornerstone. Several months after Parting ways with Mega-Guitarist Phil Keegan, G.e. knew that they needed a "Big Impact "Hit" and after seeing the success of Ben is Dead, Star, and '22nd Street', the three piece band decided to switch gears and actually began to develope a very simple 1960's inspired riff that went from A minor to G ; "We wanted a Song that more reflected our interest in bands like the Smithereens and Springsteen ,...'White Black' has a real Americana-Feel ,..'Very different from other G.e. Songs and many folks say that it even sounds like Guns n Roses ,..or Spacehog !!" Says Clark Hagins. The Song made it's debut in the South Bay in June of 1991's Hot Summer - well before 'alternative music' would become all the rage; "We peaked a little too early here,..Our song was an instant smash hit in town ,...but we were just too early - We got instant Major Label attention and Geffen Records seemed urgently particularly interested" Says Haggins. "There's no doubt that there was no Hotter band in Los Angeles then ,..we had huge advertising in every magazine from Bam to Music Connection and we played the hugest gigs in town ,..Our flyers were every where ,... We played shows with every punk and emo and alt band and we blew them all off the stage - after a while,... Nobody wanted to play on stage with G.e. - it was a bad idea for the other bands ,..." Today, on the internet, G.e. Loom Large with Massive Video Views and huge Airplay at Pandora and Jango Radio; "There is no more watched band in Cyberspace,... We see all the Major label bands buying up the fake phony plays on Youtube - nobody is impressed by that anymore" Says Haggins "Everybody knows G.e. is bigger !!" Surfing Videos have become an added feature to G.e. and their Video for Tom Curren with their song "It Ain't Easy" is a melodic smash hit at Youtube.
